Madrid City Tours - Madrid, Tours in Madrid Spain

This is one of the most complete Madrid city tours through the treasures of beautiful city of Madrid: its origins, legends, history and even gastronomy. Together we will walk through the historical center of the city and will learn what Madrid means and what it is – the capital and sometimes overlooked city that has many things to offer and to tell.

You will be accompanied and entertained by the local Spanish guide in love with his (or her) city and very willing to share the historical knowledge, national pride, funny stories and useful tips about Madrid. Although it is a full day tour, you will not have time to get neither tired (as we go at your pace and break for lunch and some refreshments), nor bored (as it's just impossible).

There will be an opportunity to access some of the monuments and historical sites during the tour. Just bear in mind that the visits to these sights will have to be short and the entrance is not included in the price of the tour.

Extra cash estimate: 20 euros - This estimation is for a traveler that wants to visit some of the historical sights on the tour, like San Francisco el Grande, entrance fee will be 3 euros (not always)

  • A drink or refreshment when the tour is nearing the end.

We will walk through the historic center from your hotel, through sights such as Parque de las Vistillas, San Francisco el Grande and Puerta de Toledo.

You will visit Plaza Mayor and walk down the Gran Via, Madrid’s showcase shopping district and a testament to early 20th-Century Art Deco architecture. You will take in the Puerta del Sol, where madrileños celebrate New Year’s Eve by eating a grape on the toll of each bell welcoming in the New Year.

During the walk you will have the chance to try some "barquillo," the local liquor of Madroño, and to taste some "Callos a la Madrileña" or "Cocido," served in an authentic atmosphere.

Madrid has been the hometown to many different cultures, and you will get to explore its intimate neighborhoods, walking along one of the oldest streets in the city to La Latina.

The route you will follow takes you through the old city, from the Madrid of the Austrias to the first Muslim area, which formed the origins of the city. It includes an overview of the most important sights, talking about its history and legends as you pass sites such as the magnificent royal Plaza de Oriente, and pop in to small taverns to try traditional vermouth with the locals.

But, perhaps most importantly, you will break for the day and enjoy a typical Spanish set-menu lunch, lingering for a couple of hours, breaking bread, drinking wine and putting the world to rights as you feast on simple yet utterly delicious food.

We would definitely give this tour 5 stars as it was one of the highlights of our 2 week stay in Spain. Enrique's tour was fun, so informative and gave a locals passionate love for Madrid. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and tried some local libations. He even stopped by a shop and bought my daughter a shawl for her birthday. He is tops in our book! Tours Madrid

Tours Madrid Excellent tour. Enrique gave us a wonderful interpretation of the people, places and history of Madrid. Enrique put everything together in a historical context. He explained the origins, evolution of, and put in context the various neighborhoods. He has an excellent command of English and and answered all our questions. He kept a steady pace and very sensitive to any of our needs during our walks, I recommend Enrique without any reservation. Thank you Enrique for beiing a gracious host!! Tours in Madrid Spain
